North Patchway Pre-School - Aims, Advice and Policies

AIMS

The primary aim of the pre-school is to provide a safe and caring environment to enable the children to learn through their play activities.

It is also very important that the children gain confidence and learn to socialise with other children of the same age in preparation for school and life in general.
Social skills are every bit as important as academic skills. Childrens social skills are particularly enhanced during our lunch time sessions. The Heads of our local primary schools say it is only possible to teach successfully if the children arrive with these skills.
USEFUL ADVICE

Clothes.
Bear in mind that the children will sometimes have the opportunity to play with messy materials such as paint, water and dough. Please ensure that outdoor clothes are labelled clearly.

Refreshments.
There is a refreshment break during each session. The children are offered free milk and a variety of fruit,  (we encourage parents/carers to bring in fruit for the children to share).
If your child does not drink milk please send an alternative, non-fizzy drink in a labelled container. We also require your child to bring in water in a clearly labelled plastic bottle, in order that they have free access to water at any time during the session.

Birthdays.
You are encouraged to send along some cakes on or near to your child's birthday so that all the Pre-school children can join in and help celebrate the occasion.
POLICIES

We have policies stating equal opportunities, health and safety and many others. For further information please contact us for a prospectus.
